‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 5 preview: Dexter’s latest confrontation

When you consider all of the opponents and adversaries that we have seen Dexter Morgan square off against over the years, we imagine that he is not so worried about having to take on a teenager seemingly trying to protect his father.

Unlike the last sneak peek (which told us pretty much head-on about Dexter’s attempts to find Dr. Evelyn Vogel following her kidnapping), this one seems to be more of a standard murder investigation, which has him arriving at a very wealthy home. This kid makes it clear to Dexter that his father is not exactly a perfect person, using a swear word for it that is bleeped-out in the video, but also stating that he is not a killer.

So is there any reason at all for Dexter to believe him? Probably not. He’s still looking for a suspect in the Brain Surgeon, and successful people can still be sociopaths (just look at him). We just hope that Dexter finds the killer soon, if for no other reason than that we can move on from this story into some more interesting matters, such as when Hannah is going to show up and what exactly Dr. Vogel really wants with him. Also, you have to wonder whether or not Batista is ever going to permanently let go what transpired with LaGuerta’s death; given that Dexter was not present at the party when she died, he’s getting off pretty easy as a suspect … especially when you remember how convinced that she was about him being a ruthless killer.
