‘True Blood’ season 6, episode 7 preview: Sam learns the news
There is little doubt that we have been hard on “True Blood” season 6 for their Sam Merlotte story this year. It’s been pointless and frustrating, especially when you consider how a character like Emma is really not important to anything related to the show at the end of the day.
However, there does seem to be an attempt now to rectify things somewhat with a powerful sneak peek from Sunday night’s episode that serves as yet another reminder of how talented Sam Trammell really is given the right material. In a phone conversation, Lafayette informs his Merlotte’s boss of the news that Terry has died, but doesn’t seem to really go into detail as to what exactly happened (which is probably pretty hard to do when you are somewhat clueless yourself). Sam’s reaction is real and human, and that in itself is something that has been missing from the season as a whole.
Sam quickly comes inside and informs Nicole, the somewhat-irritating activist that has been at his side, that he needs to go back to town despite the warnings from Alcide that his pack will rip him to shreds. She tells her to call her mother and have her be picked up, since the town’s clearly not safe. But who actually thinks that Nicole’s going to heed this warning? Probably not going to happen, especially given what we’ve learned about her and some of the other characters so far.
What do you think about this preview, and do you think that Sam returning to Bon Temps could salvage what has been a wreck of a story for him so far? There is some more creepiness coming up with another important character in Sarah Newlin, and if you want to read some more on that, just be sure to head on over to the link here.
