‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Reflection from Desmond Harrington and more

DexterThe following “Dexter” article will be best read / listened to if you have an hour and a half to spare. In other words, after you’re done reading here put on the speakers and listen in while you’re doing some household chores.

The first “video” (if you can call it that) is the latest edition of the show’s popular “Wrap-Up Podcast,” where writer / story editor Scott Reynolds goes through the entire previous episode, gives some behind-the-scenes details, chats with other writers, and more. It’s a great listen for any die-hard fan, and this one featuring Desmond Harrington is especially great given that the guy’s got an awesome sense of humor and clearly loves his job. Harrington is one of those few guys who comes into a show midway through its run, and yet you sit back and you almost picture them having been there from the very beginning. In reality, he’s more of a replacement for Doakes, but with a completely different energy and priority.

If you have a little less time on your hands and want to still get a taste of the creativity that goes into these episodes, the second video below features executive producer Scott Buck opening up on what made this episode so interesting, at least from the standpoint of Deb. Just when you think that this woman is finally starting to come around, and does not think so much of her brother as a foe anymore, everything just flips yet again and she flings her car into the water. Were it not for that little reminder from Dr. Vogel and a man who saved her life (but strangely didn’t try to help Dexter), the series finale would’ve taken place a little bit early.

Just in case you want to see even more than what we have for you below, there is also the full video preview for next week’s installment over here.
