‘Breaking Bad’ season 5 spoilers: Vince Gilligan on ‘Better Call Saul,’ Comic-Con

Better Call Saul season 1This weekend, “Breaking Bad” is going to be giving their second and final panel at Comic-Con, and this means that there is of course going to be quite a bit of hype around what happens. Will the show find a way to raise the bar yet again in the final 8 episodes? That is a tall order, and it is clear that Vince Gilligan has his work cut out for him in having to deal with the Olympic-sized expectations that always come with a beloved show coming to a close.

Nonetheless, he tells Entertainment Weekly while at the convention this weekend that he is excited to see what happens when it comes to the fan reaction, and he is very “proud” of how the cast chose to wrap things up.

As for the current state of the “Better Call Saul” spin-off featuring Bob Odenkirk, Gilligan was afraid to confirm anything with the belief that it would anger studios; however, he was still kind enough to say the following:

“At this point, there is no official set-in-stone plan for a spin-off, but I have my fingers crossed and we’re working very hard on it.”

If there is a spin-off, we imagine that it will probably not be announced in great detail until after the end of the flagship show, mostly out of fear that it could in some way spoil something that happens during the “Breaking Bad” ending.
