‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 video: Watch Ted’s children completely go off
Before we start off this “How I Met Your Mother” article, let’s kick this off with the obvious: This clip below is clearly not canon, so should not be taken seriously in relation to the rest of the show. With that in mind, it is pretty darn funny.
Basically, the focal point of this CBS series has always revolved around the central notion of how Ted met his future wife, and how he sat down his children to tell them about this story. The problem here? Over the course of the eight years that it’s taken the show to really tell this story, these kids are not even kids anymore, and yet they are still having to hear Ted talk about some of his favorite oatmeal.
The video is profane, over-the-top, bizarre, but completely ridiculous. It was also a nice way to give the attendees at Comic-Con the opportunity to see something special without having the ninth season spoiled for them in any way. We do imagine that David Henrie and Lyndsy Fonseca (who play Ted’s children) will both turn up again during the upcoming 24 episodes, and hopefully as they start to see the story wind down, future Ted will realize just how much time that this has really taken him. (Hopefully, there will also be some sort of joke thrown in there about how grown-up Ted really sounds a lot like Bob Saget.)
The show’s final season will premiere on September 23, and at least for the first several weeks, we will probably not see a ton of Cristin Milioti working alongside some of the other characters; however, that will slowly change over time, ending with her actually getting to meet Ted and creating that magical moment we’ve all been waiting for.
