‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Ariel will make appearance

For those of you who have been fighting and campaigning for Ariel to make an appearance on “Once Upon a Time” season 3 over the course of the past few seasons, we have some great news for you today: It is definitely happening.

During a sneak preview shown at the ABC series’ Comic-Con panel on Saturday morning, it was revealed that the famous star of “The Little Mermaid,” who has long been an intriguing possibility for the show thanks to some various fan campaigns, will have some sort of role. But will it be as a major character? That remains a mystery for now.

This promo was very similar to the Captain Hook tease from last year in that we never saw the character’s face, so it could be almost anyone playing the part for now. This part will likely be cast within the next month, and we are currently assuming that the role will not be in the first episodes of the season.

There are other announcements that are still to come for “Once Upon a Time” season 3, including the great mystery surrounding Peter Pan. There was no casting announcement made at the event, save for the news that he will have a very “complicated” motivation for doing what he does when it comes to the Lost Boys. Therefore, it may be a little early for us to sit here and assume that this character is necessarily going to be evil, as they may instead just be serving a greater purpose against their will.
