‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4 spoilers: Keegan Allen hints at bumps for Spencer, Toby

Within the world of “Pretty Little Liars,” there is one thing that should never come as much of a surprise at all: There are going to be stumbling blocks and bumps in the road, and no matter how hard they try to make something good happen, it very rarely ends up going according to plan.

Already this season, we have seen one of the biggest plans to fall apart surrounding Keegan Allen’s character of Toby. Remember that whole notion of him trying to use “A” to find his mom? Being a secret? Well, it really didn’t take some of the other Liars very long at all to start to piece some things together about it, and he and Spencer now have to find a way to continue keeping what they are up to somewhat under wraps just for the sake of everyone’s protection.

In speaking on the friction that is going to come up between these two, Allen tells The Hollywood Reporter that the biggest problem could come via Spencer continuing to have to be dishonest to these people that she has had this intense experience with, just for the sake of protecting him:

“Toby has issues with his past still with his mother and they go on a sleuthing mission that is very intense for him to go through and for her to continue to keep this a secret from her friends is very trying on her relationship.”

Allen also explained that there are going to be at least a few moments that take place during the upcoming summer finale that are going to be hard to believe, and while this is in many ways exciting for us, we have a feeling that there are going to be characters on the show who do not exactly feel the same way.
