‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ season 9: Charlie Day shows off first look
Later this fall, new station / FX offshoot FXX is going to be the home of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” episodes, but before we come to that, we have a brand-new sneak peek to share now courtesy of one of the show’s stars in Charlie Day. In an effort to promote both the show and his new role in “Pacific Rim,” the actor is appearing on “Conan” this week to give a little bit more insight.
The video below basically is of the same sort of silliness that you would expect from this long-running comedy. The gang seems to have come up with some elaborate pyramid scheme that they are going to try and lure wrestler Roddy Piper into, and it is about as low-budget as humanly possibly. Some highlights include Sweet Dee standing in front of a green screen trying to pretend like she has some money, and Charlie pretending to be some sort of genius scientist.
All in all, it looks at least on the surface like we are going to have yet another incredible season before us, complete with random plot-lines and things that are incredibly offensive. This show has consistently been among the most-underrated that we have seen on TV in quite some time; even when things barely change, it manages to nonetheless remain entertaining thanks to the performance and the pure manic nature of the storytelling. (Thank Day and his performance by and large for that.)
What do you think about this sneak peek, and are you excited to see some more “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” craziness moving forward? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can watch another preview for this season here.
