‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Caroline’s new love interest will be…

As we reported recently, Candice Accola’s “Vampire Diaries” character of Caroline Forbes is going to end up having herself quite a season coming up on the show. Specifically, she’s going to potentially find either a new love interest, or someone who is at least going to briefly catch her eye. (Cue all of the spirited comments from fans.)

So who will this person be? Well luckily, we now have some details! According to a new report from TV Guide, Kendrick Sampson of “Greek” fame will be coming on board the show, where he will be playing the part of Jesse, a man that she and Elena (Nina Dobrev) meet upon their first day at Whitmore College. From that point on, it does not take very much time at all for the character to catch the eye of Caroline, and a possible romance begins.

Do we find ourselves rooting for Caroline to find love with this guy? Sure, but only in the event that she cannot really find love with anyone else. We know already that Joseph Morgan’s Klaus is heading over to “The Originals” spin-off show, so he is not really going to be much of an option; meanwhile, Michael Trevino’s Tyler is also going to be possibly preoccupied, at least since we have still not heard word as to whether or not the character is going to find his own way back to the show after a prolonged absence for much of the spring.
