As we get prepared to see Grantchester season 11 episode 5 on PBS next week, why not set the table more for what is ahead? As we have said on a number of occasions already this is the final season and because of that, every single story is going to matter that much more.

So by virtue of that, what is going to make the next installment special? Beyond just seeing Alphy faced with what could be a significant crisis of faith, we may be in a spot here where Geordie looks to what his own future is going to look like. We are not standing at the halfway point of the season and by virtue of that very thing alone, we tend to think that every reveal the rest of the way is going to have some added weight. The mystery here will come via just how much we are talking about and beyond just that, whether real closure will be saved until we get to the finale.

To get a few more details on what is ahead, be sure to check out the Grantchester season 11 episode 5 synopsis below:

A murder near Bishop Grey’s home exposes corruption within the Church’s inner circle, shaking Alphy’s faith. Geordie secures his long-awaited promotion but faces growing distance from Cathy. Meanwhile, Leonard returns to his calling.

If there is any one thing that we can share with a measure of confidence at present, it is simply that we are going to see emotional moments at almost every turn here. That has been the foundation for the series from the beginning and by virtue of that alone, why would we ever think that it is suddenly about to change? In particular, we would be shocked if there were not more tear-jerkers across the final episodes.
