‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Why should Ian Somerhalder’s Damon worry?

Even when you are a vampire with so many tools at your disposal like Damon Salvatore, there are still going to be problems. For more on that, we turn to this tiny bit of scoop from the upcoming fifth season of “The Vampire Diaries.”

According to a new report from TVLine, the series is in the process of casting a male doctor, and it is someone that could pose some pretty significant problems for the Damon character. What’s the reason for that? Let’s just say that the man knows just about all of his secrets. If we’re speculating, maybe this doctor is a vampire as well, or has some other sort supernatural ability to read into the minds or souls of others. The beauty of this show at times is that it really does benefit from an “anything is possible” philosophy.

We know that Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and most of the cast is very much ready now to dive into production on season 5. Filming officially started for the group today, which has meant for some cast members radio silence in fear of actually giving anything substantial away at all. There are a number of new faces joining the universe this year, including some students that Elena is going to meet while at school, and also some other folks that could interact with her newly-revived little brother Jeremy, who also has the ghost of Bonnie now to keep him company.
