Following the events of the big season 4 finale today on The CW, what can we say regarding Sullivan’s Crossing season 5? Are we going to be officially getting more down the road?

As you would expect, discussions of this nature can be a little complicated for a handful of reasons, beginning with the fact that CTV is technically its local broadcaster and not The CW. Luckily, we do know that they have no reason to shy away from bringing it back. Other than All American, this is a broadcast network that has shied away from developing its own scripted programming over the past couple of years. Sullivan’s Crossing is instead the exact sort of show they want to air — something that has broad appeal, is cost-effective, and also features at least a name or two that American viewers would be familiar with.

If we are to look at past seasons as evidence for what could be coming, our easy prediction at present is that season 5 will premiere at some point next spring.

Will the same cast return?

This is what merits a little bit of further discussion, mostly because there has been some turnover here before and from where we sit, it would not be that big of a shock if there are a few changes here and there. Still, we hope for stability, largely because that is one of those things that can make a series like this successful. There is a lot of value, after all, in getting to see a lot of the same people year in and year out. You grow attached some some of their stories and everything that transpires with them.
