Yet another batch of actors were announced today for Only Murders in the Building season 6 — so how many familiar faces are now joining the fold?

According to a report coming in from Deadline, David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan, Jodie Whittaker, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis and Kathryn Hunter are among the latest names joining what is an already enormous cast for the London-set season. We tend to think the appeal for actors joining the show is rather simple: The chance to work with people like Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. That is without even noting the possibility that we see Meryl Streep or Paul Rudd again in some capacity.

Of the group, we do think there is a certain charm to three of them have distinct and recent connections to Doctor Who. With Tennant and Whittaker, we are talking about two people who previously played the Doctor not too long ago. Meanwhile, Coughlan (best known for Bridgerton) also recently appeared in a Christmas Special of the BBC institution. They will have a chance to get mixed up in the comedy here and who knows? They could also end up being potential suspects.
If you need a refresher, season 6 of Only Murders in the Building is going to revolve around the investigation into the death of one Cinda Canning. Tina Fey’s character turned up dead at the Arconia gates at the end of this past season and by virtue of that, the trio of Charles, Mabel, and Oliver are going to head to the UK to find out who overseas wanted her dead and by virtue of that, actually committed such an act.
