Task season 2 spoilers: Edgar Ramirez signs on

We’ve known for a while that Task season 2 would be bringing on board Mahershala Ali in a significant role. Why not add Edgar Ramirez to the mix?
According to a report from Deadline, the Emilia Perez alum is being brought on board the show in the role of Miguel Contreras, described as “a devoted family man and loyal DEA second-in-command torn between duty and guilt.” This is someone who Tom (Mark Ruffalo) will clearly have some sort of contact with in the second season, which we are hoping we are going to have a chance to see next year.

Of course for us personally, we are still right now in a situation where we are simply rather thrilled to be getting even more of the HBO show at all. When it first arrived on the scene, it was somewhat easy to imagine that this was only going to be a one-season event and that was it. Now, obviously everything is a little bit different. The second season is going to be filmed once again in Pennsylvania, with the hope here being to continue to capture something that looks and feels a little bit different from what we have seen elsewhere.
When the dust settles, let’s just hope for a story that is as compelling and intense as what we got the first go-around. Also, who doesn’t want there to be some sort of additional cat-and-mouse game here? The stakes are going to be high, but we’ve learned that not only is Tom great at his job, but he is also rather excellent when it comes to assembling a great team.
