As many out there may know at this point, House of the Dragon season 4 is poised to be the final chapter over at HBO. So what in the world could it look like?

Well, first and foremost, let’s just start things off here by noting that season 3 is still a couple of weeks away from airing. However, at the same exact time, this is one of those shows where you do honestly have to plan out long in advance. Not only does it take several months to film, but there are still long stretches of post-production after the fact. In other words, there is a lot that has to be done in order to make the series perfect at the end of the day.

So what is showrunner Ryan Condal considering when it comes to season 4 right now? Well, let’s just say that he is not waxing poetic just yet, mostly because there is a good bit of story still to tell.

Speaking to Deadline, here is some of what Condal had to say:

“I’m an ‘all good things come to an end’ type person … I don’t know what I will feel yet [when it finishes] because right now the show is almost like a snake eating its tail, very rarely are you doing one thing. Right now, we’re crafting Season 4 before we’ve even finished Season 3 and released it to the world.”

In the end, we tend to think that the show will at least have a proper and definite end. This is not a Game of Thrones situation where there is no source material to pull from. Condal has a complete guide courtesy of Fire & Blood and because of that, he simply needs to figure out just how he wants to tie it all together.
