Matlock season 3 premiere date: A June 2026 update

Is there a chance that we are going to be hearing more about Matlock season 3 at CBS between now and the end of June?

Well, first and foremost, it is worth noting that it is all-systems-go when it comes to the future of the Kathy Bates series; however, there is a major caveat that you have to throw into here. The network has already confirmed that the next season will not premiere until 2027, and we tend to think that there are a multitude of different reasons for that. Take, for starters, the fact that the show is going to have 13 episodes this time and the powers-that-be clearly want to air them with limited interruption. Meanwhile, the writers are taking their time to come up with what is effectively a totally-new story. Remember here that everything when it comes to Wellbrexa was tied up in the season 2 finale; we imagine that everything as we move forward is going to be moving into somewhat of a new direction.

So is there a chance that we will get more firm Matlock season 3 premiere date soon? That would be great but in the end, the odds of that are pretty slim to none. Our general feeling is that if we are lucky, we are going to be getting the show back at some point from January until March. CBS may announced either this month or next some of their launch dates for the fall, but we are most likely not going to get something more here until we get around to October or November.

Ultimately, we are happy to see what the producers decide as the proper next direction for Matty, Olympia, and others. We have every reason to think that it is going to be awesome.
