Ted Lasso season 4: Hannah Waddingham calls out ‘rift’ reports

If there is one thing that is not a surprise here, it is that a lot of the press chose to take a story all about Ted Lasso completely out of context.

With that, let’s get to the source of all the nonsense claims that there was a “rift” between co-stars Hannah Waddingham and Jason Sudeikis. It began when the actress behind Rebecca said the following as a part of a piece over at Variety:

“There’s always going to be a bit of give and take within a scene, because of the nature of how Sudeikis works … He hears it in the room, and then we tweak. With that boy, you’ve got to roll with the punches. He and I have an ongoing love-hate relationship that he changes it last minute.”

Somehow, a lot of these outlets spun this as there being a serious issue between the two when in reality, this is how some shows work. Sudeikis is a perfectionist, and this is not the first time that we’ve heard this. In a now-expired post on her Instagram Stories (per Entertainment Tonight), Waddingham sent out the following message:

“For the first time ever I am finding it necessary to silence the utter bollocks being written about a ‘rift’ between me and my beloved, long-standing friend and acting partner Jason Sudeikis … Ridiculous, clickbait buuuuuulllls—!”

Of course there is absolutely nothing bad happening with the two performers, and we tend to think they will have a lot of delightful material in season 4. One of the things that we’re most curious about at this point is how Rebecca sells Ted on coming back to the UK to coach the AFC Richmond women’s team — or is she the one selling him? A lot is to be determined.
