Widow’s Bay season 1 episode 8: Can Tom, Evan really leave?

Much like we have seen for the better part of the past several weeks, Widow’s Bay season 1 episode 8 delivered something a little bit different. In particular, we are talking here about a story that paid as much homage to slasher films as it has anything else.

After all, for much of the installment here, we saw Patricia front and center as she did whatever she could to escape the clutches of the Boogeyman, an extremely dangerous individual who somehow was back roaming the streets. Was that actually him, though? That is another intriguing discussion worth having, given that you could very-much argue that we were simply seeing a copycat causing problems. After all, the original Boogeyman was apparently buried in a way that would make it impossible for him to escape — someone would have had to let him out! Also, the original Boogeyman was unable to be killed … but this one can be?

Ultimately, we do think that there is a lot to wonder when it comes to the mechanics of this infamous character being let out, but it is worth noting that they are seemingly gone now thanks to Patricia ensuring that their remains get incinerated. However, Wyck did also warn Tom that nothing is over at the end of episode, and right at the time in which he was planning to go to Boston. Does this mean that there are more problems ahead? Has getting rid of the Boogeyman actually solved anything at all? These are at least some of the things we have to wonder through the remaining two episodes.

For now, the only thing we can be assured of is that this show is going to continue to throw you for a loop in one way or another.
