Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 3: Is there hope ahead?

As we do look ahead to Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 3 on Paramount+, it does feel like one thing is crystal clear: Dark times are coming for the BAU. How can you say anything otherwise based on how the most recent episode ended? It seems like a possible copycat is out there for one Elias Voit and in the end, that could mean a lot of difficult moments and shocking twists.
Even in the midst of all of this, though, is there a chance for a light at the end of the tunnel. Well, this has long been one of the most interesting things about this show: Even when you can argue that things look relatively hopeless for some of the characters, there is still an opportunity for light. That is actually been one of the reasons arguably why people have stuck with the show for so many years, as well — the series is fundamentally about watching heroes trying to protect society from the worst people imaginable. They, at least in their own way, represent hope.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Criminal Minds: Evolution showrunner Erica Messer suggests that there could be at least some positive moments ahead in the story:
“It is this idea of new beginnings. It’s been a year in our story world … So there are new challenges that they’re faced with — but there’s also a little bit of hope in that. It has the potential for better things to come.”
If there are some characters who could especially use a little bit of hope in their lives, it would be the likes of JJ and Luke. They have both suffered loss recently and are trying to figure out what is ahead for them.
