Is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver new tonight on HBO? We certainly would not fault anyone looking for more of the late-night show but also having some questions. After all, the extended finale of Euphoria could be throwing the network’s schedule out of whack — could that mean that Oliver is going to be sidelined for a week?

Well, for this particular article, let’s just say that we have some good news. Not only that, but we consider this to be positive news that exists across multiple fronts.

First and foremost, it is worth noting that Last Week Tonight will be airing tonight, but also is going to have one of the longer episodes we’ve seen. Based on some of the network’s listings as of right now, it appears as though the plan here is for the installment to air roughly around 51 minutes. Does this mean a longer main segment, or potentially two of them put together? We tend to think that all possibilities are in order.

Of course for us personally, one of the things that we would love to hear Oliver speak a little bit more about at this point is the World Cup, mostly because he has done so many segments about FIFA over the years that have been outstanding. Also, as a longtime soccer fan John is able to really deliver a perspective on it that a lot of other late-night comedians in America cannot. We of course think that there is going to be a lot of conversation around politics, so that is not really something to worry about. That has long been the bread and butter of the series and it is hard to imagine that changing anytime soon.
