We are 100% aware of the fact that we do have a long time to go from the end of Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 moving into season 20. With that said, do you really think that is going to stop us from sharing more details? Far from it.

Instead, we are happy to sit here and say that the next chapter of the show is going to be as intense as ever, and that there is going to be some sort of time jump once again. This does give us something more to look forward to and that is exciting within itself.

To hear more about it, check out some of what showrunner Erica Messer had to say in an interview with TV Insider:

“The biggest thing is that [the Season 19 finale] lets us know some chapters are ending, but our fight against good versus evil in this world is never ending. And so we end this season with that idea that yeah, this big case might be behind you, but there’s another one that’s just brewing and it’s really bad and all hands on deck … And so we want to believe that between Seasons 19 and 20, they solved the case that was introduced to them at the end of Season 19 because it’s been a year. Once again, it’ll be a year between seasons story-wise, between 19 and 20.”

Does this mean that the story of Elias Voit is wrapped up? Not necessarily, since there could easily be a new way that the writers are going to fold him into the story. For now, it appears as though every option is out there and that is exactly the point.
