For All Mankind season 6 spoilers: What is the next time period?

Heading into For All Mankind season 6 over on Apple TV, it does feel like we are experiencing something a little bit different. After all, we usually get a direct time jump at the end of the previous finale but for season 5, the producers opted to go in a slightly different direction.

Are we altogether shocked? Not really, mostly because of what it was we ended up seeing when it comes to Kelly and the Titan mission. They just have put themselves now in a completely different position but at the same time, we do recognize that the series has a pattern — and with this also being the end of the series coming up, there is no real desire to greatly change anything now.

In speaking on all of this further now to TV Insider, here is some of what executive producer Ben Nedivi had to say:

I don’t want to say [an exact year] because it is a bit of a surprise. As always, we tend to jump into the next decade. We do jump into the 2020s.

This does go along with what has been the original vision with For All Mankind since the beginning, as there has long been this desire to bring the story all the way into the present day. This certainly means we will get to experience stories that feel more topical than ever, but obviously with a different foundation. The whole show is playing around with the idea of “what if” so for every single thing that you recognize, there will be other reminders that nothing is quite the same.
