Is Sheriff Country new tonight at CBS? At this point, we of course do not blame anyone who is ready and eager to get more insight all about the show. How can you not, given the rather shocking reveal regarding Mickey Fox’s family that we had at the end of this past installment? There is so much more material to work through and it goes without saying to note we are super-psyched to see what is ahead.

Unfortunately, this is where we do have to share the regrettable news that we are going to be waiting a good while for what is on the other side. There is no new episode currently slated to air on the network tonight. Not only that, but there are no plans for there to be any more for a good while still. At present, the earliest you can see any more of the Morena Baccarin show is going to be either late September or early October when the next chapter premieres.

As for what the overall story of Sheriff Country season 2 is going to look like, we do think that the cases are going to remain the bedrock of the story. However, at the same time the big family reveal for Mickey is not toothpaste that you can put back into the tube. It is going to change quite a bit moving forward and in the end, shouldn’t it? We also imagine that Mickey herself could be facing even more trust issues after the twisted romantic arc close to the end of the first season.

One more thing to remember

At present, there are plans to potentially introduce a new medical spin-off during season 2, similar to how Mickey was first introduced on Fire Country. Given that it is still early days, though, we would not move forward necessarily with any big assumptions that this is going to happen. Development takes time.
