Entering the House of the Dragon season 3 premiere on HBO, we know that there are a lot of big events to come. Which one is front and center? Well, look no further here than the Battle of the Gullet! This is a huge showdown that happens within the George R.R. Martin source material, and it is one that involves ships, dragons, and a whole lot more. There was a legitimate hope that we would be able to see this at the end of season 2, but that did not happen. By virtue of that, we now have to just be excited about kicking things off in a big way for season 3.

Given that the cast and crew have been around this version of Westeros from the very beginning, they are going to have a lot to say about how things kick off. Let’s just say, based at least on hat Emma D’Arcy is stating now, that there is a lot to be excited for.

To get a few more details, just see what the performer had to say to Entertainment Weekly:

“The series this time around starts at 60 miles an hour … We’re finally watching a war that has been building for two seasons…. I’m so impressed by Ryan and the team, because it’s to really hold your nerve to stage a conflict that has been, until now, primarily interpersonal, interfamily — and then [to] finally, in one huge gesture, allow that conflict to unleash on the realm as a whole, I think is some very classy plotting.”

Ultimately, there are going to be some real challenges when it comes to delivering a conflict at this scale, but hopefully, the extra time will allow the vision to be as spectacular as it feels on the page. (We already know not to expect a perfect recreation of Fire & Blood, thanks mostly to the first two seasons.)
