Marshals season 2 spoilers: The Cal, Belle future

As we move into Marshals season 2 over on CBS, we certainly understand there being many questions. How can there not be at this point, especially when it comes to Cal and Belle?
First and foremost, you have two people who are stuck front and center in a “will they or won’t they” plotline, and that is something that the show can choose to play out over a rather long period of time. Beyond just that, though, you also have two people who are in the midst of a violent cliffhanger! While we do think that they are going to find their way out of that, it does still feel inevitable that a few more issues are going to come their way.

Speaking to TVLine, here is what Logan Marshall-Green had to say about the future of these characters — of course, provided that they are able to get out of this spot in the first place:
“When it comes to these two human beings, they’re just looking for connection … And they’re not trying to make it messy at work. I don’t think they’re very conscious of what it would mean, but I don’t think [showrunner Spencer Hudnut] or the writers or the actors want to just do any old workplace relationship. It has to be earned. One thing Spencer has done really well is making these two earn their trust, to earn their allowance of intimacy and being privy to each other’s stories. And she still hasn’t let Cal into a lot of her story, so there’s still a lot for them to learn about each other down the road.”
Given that Marshals is going to be back this fall, it is nice in theory to not have to worry too much about having to wait for an extremely long time to get any more intel on their future. We’re just sure that after that cliffhanger, they are either going to have physical or emotional scars to show.
