‘Elementary’ season 2 spoilers: Filming begins for Jonny Lee Miller in London

There are a number of shows that are taking on some pretty ambitious challenges in the new year, but we’re pretty sure that most of them are not being as brave as “Elementary” is in filming in a completely different country. Jonny Lee Miller and company are currently in London shooting the season premiere (as proved by CBS sharing the photo attached here), which is going to be even more of an origin story for this version of Sherlock Holmes than what we have seen to date.

Sadly, much of the actual story for this hour is still shrouded in mystery (which seems perfect for a show about this famous sleuth). We can at least tell you that we are going to be seeing a pretty sizable arc early on from Sherlock’s brother Mycroft, and there is also the potential for some more characters to show up and stay a little while, as well.

But what about Sherlock’s dad? If the character is turning up, producers are keeping a pretty tight lid on it for now.We expect this to be more of a situation where they keep someone in their pocket for down the road … though we’re sure that there will be at least a few questions asked about him during this premiere episode.

“Elementary” season 2 is going to premiere on CBS Thursday, September 26 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, with the only major change being that it is now going to be proceeded by new comedies rather than “Person of Interest.”
