What all is there to say heading into Dutton Ranch season 1 episode 4 over on Paramount+ next week? Based on what we say today, let’s just say there is definitely a lot to brace for.

After all, consider what Rip has discovered now on his property: Foot and mouth disease could be running rampant throughout the entire herd. It remains to be seen just if it is contained at all but ultimately, we are looking at a situation here where things could turn on a dime and Cole Hauser’s character could be forced to start all over … again. How much are he and Beth going to go through here?

We’d love to say that the Dutton Ranch season 1 episode 3 synopsis was giving a great deal away but unfortunately, that is not actually the case:

Beth and Rip Dutton take measures.

To us, this is simply just a reference to what the two are going to be dealing with regarding the cattle and if there is going to need to be something drastic done. Remember that the stakes here are sky-high since they are relying on the quality of their beef for the long-term future. If this cannot be contained, all of Beth’s work may have been for naught.

Our personal hope here is that over the course of time, the show is going to answer another big question, as well: Is it a coincidence that the cattle are suddenly facing an illness? Or, was this all deliberate or planned out? We’re not sure that episode 4 will deliver answers or not, but it does seem very-much like there are reasons to wonder about that based on what Beulah and her family are capable of doing. The past really speaks for itself.
