Survivor 51 teaser: The ‘Open Era,’ more twists than ever before

We knew heading into Survivor 50 that there would be some sort of teaser for season 51. So, what did we end up getting?

Well, in the closing minutes of the finale, we had a small look into what the next season is going to look like. This time around, we are going to be getting pre-new castaways. Also, it seems as though we are going to be getting about a billion twists from start to finish. Jeff Probst noted that every twists from the first fifty seasons of the show is in play … but what in the world does that mean? Well, we’ll have to wait and see to a certain extent.

The craziest thing to us at this point is that the show seems to be down to give the next part of the game a new moniker — the “Open Era.” In other words, this is when we are going to see almost anything happen at any moment. Probst noted that the new season has been filmed and that it is really fun, but hesitated to say a lot more than that. We will say that historically, the seasons that come directly after all-star ones are often difficult since you have a lot to live up to. Most recently, Survivor 41 had a lot of challenges, even if it had a few standout moments here and there.

As for when you are going to see Survivor 51 on the air, think in terms of this fall, most likely close to the end of September. The challenge is obviously going to be coming up with something that feels even close to this momentous.
