Shogun season 2 premiere date: A May 2026 update
Is there any chance that we are going to learn more about Shogun season 2 between now and the end of May? Make no mistake that it would be great to get some sort of insight on the next chapter, especially when some of the information out there is limited.
If there is one thing that we can say here from the start, it is that production remains ongoing on the next chapter of the historical epic. As many out there may be aware, the story is moving past the source material and by virtue of that, there was a great deal of question marks that are still out there. Take, for example, what some of the character arcs are going to look like or if there are any surprising points in history the show is going to hit. We have yet to get the sense that we are going to see some sort of seismic jump forward, especially since at least some actors from season 1 are set to return.

Now if there is anything that we are unlikely to get regarding Shogun season 2 this month, it is a release date — mostly because we are likely still too far away to get anything close to that. Our hope here is that the series will air at some point next year and if we are lucky, FX and Hulu will start to narrow things down close to the end of the year. Insofar as we can tell right now, there is a pretty low chance that they are going to do much of anything before then.
For those who are not aware, the series was renewed for a season 3 to go along with a season 2, meaning that there is a good bit more to be excited about here.
