The Testaments season 1 finale: First Hulu details!

There is still more than a week to go until the season 1 finale for The Testaments arrives over at Hulu — but what can we say in advance?

Well, first and foremost, we do think it makes sense to kick things off here with what is more or less a celebration of the show in its totality. We certainly anticipated that the follow-up to The Handmaid’s Tale would be good and yet, it has found a ay to surpass even our wildest expectations. It has brought us a new version of Gilead that is dark, but still containing characters who give us hope.

Based on where things are after episode 8, it feels like nothing could be the same as Agnes is confiding more and more in Daisy. What will she do with her information about Dr. Grove? That remains to be seen, but these two young women plus Becka could be the focal points for the end of the season. The title for the finale is “Secateurs” (which are often a form of pruning shears), and the synopsis below sets the stage:

While Becka faces the consequences of her actions, Agnes and Daisy must decide how far they’re willing to go to protect her.

Is there going to be some sort of cliffhanger at the end of everything here? For now, let’s just say that it would not be a shock. The Testaments has not been renewed as of yet for a season 2 but at the same time, we are hopeful that it is going to happen. Given that the plan here is for this to be a show that lasts for multiple years, we would be stunned in the event something was cut off before we got around to that.
