The Traitors: NBC sets premiere date window for newbie version

We have been aware for quite some time now that a version of The Traitors US was coming to NBC featuring reality TV newbies. It is, honestly, one that has a sky-high ceiling given the success of the Peacock version — and also, it is nice to see people play the game without some sort of reality TV baggage associated with them.
Today, the folks over at the network officially confirmed that you are going to see this version of the show air this fall on Thursdays, where it will be followed by Law & Order: SVU and then the flagship show. This is a timeslot that echoes approximately when the Peacock version airs in the winter, and it also smartly keeps it away from other reality TV titans like Dancing with the Stars and then also Survivor.

Our hope of course is that late September or early October is when this version of the show premieres. NBC has also noted that the series will only have hour-long episodes and if there is anything that has nervous, it’s this. We recognize that because it is broadcast television, there has to be a specific limit on how long each installment can be. Yet, at the same time, the concern here is that we end up getting a somewhat more muted product than we would otherwise because of it. Of course, we already know that there will be less in the way of strong language compared to what we have seen on some other versions of the show — we’re okay with that, so long as the casting is on point.
In the end, we do have to remember here that what truly matters the most is that we get a really memorable crop of players who are eager to hit the ground running from start to finish.
