Virgin River season 8 premiere date: A May 2026 update

With us starting to get closer to the midway point of May, is there a chance that more Virgin River season 8 news is coming?

The first news to point out at this point is rather simple: Filming is already underway for the show featuring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson. That is going to be taking place over the course of the next few months, and our hope is that by close to the end of the year, the episodes will be close to being ready … but that does not mean it is going to happen right away.

After all, it is fair to remember here that with a show like Virgin River, there are more steps that need to be taken to get the story from point A to point B. Take Netflix finding the right spot to air it and then beyond just that, making sure that the promotion is on point. Our feeling is that late winter / early spring 2027 is most likely going to be the window for the series all over again and if that happens, we will probably get more confirmation on it in either December or January.

In the end, where we are going here is not too complicated — it feels like we are not going to be getting too much news on season 8 this month, unless there is something more to share when it comes to casting. We do not imagine that a lot of the central themes of the story are going to be that different, especially when it comes to romance, drama, or the immersion that comes from being around this particular small town.
