Rooster season 2 premiere date hopes over at HBO

Following what you see when it comes to the Rooster finale tonight at HBO, it only makes sense to start asking more questions regarding season 2.
First and foremost, are we actually getting it? to put it simply, yes! The premium-cable network announced the renewal weeks ago on the heels of it performing extremely well in the ratings. We certainly anticipated that a Steve Carell-fronted comedy would perform very well but at the same time, there is a difference between pre-season confidence and then getting the actual results. It is another established hit for executive producer Bill Lawrence, once that adds to a fantastic catalogue that includes the likes of Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Scrubs and Bad Monkey.

So now that we’ve established all of this, let’s get into when we could actually see Rooster back for more. It will be a little while, largely because there is still a reasonable amount of work that still needs to be done. The good news is that a 2027 return is possible, provided of course the scripts are ready in time and the filming dates line up for Carell and the rest of the cast. We do know that John C. McGinley could be balancing his job here with recurring on Scrubs as Perry Cox.
While we are certainly going to be an advocate for getting new episodes here in twelve months, our general sentiment is that everyone should take the take necessary in order to make some great stuff. This is not a broadcast network that requires you to have seasons on an annual basis, and one of the things that HBO in general tends to prioritize is quality. We just hope that season 2 continues to be funny, but also really focuses in on these characters as we learn more and more about them over time.
