NCIS season 23 episode 20 (finale) video: A full-circle moment
As some out there may be aware, Tuesday marks the arrival of the NCIS season 23 finale over on CBS — but what all can we say about it?
Well, first and foremost, we recognize that the episode is coming on the heels of some measure of closure over the death of Leon Vance. It brought about the return of Gibbs in some capacity, even though we have yet to see him in-person and in all honesty, it remains a mystery if we actually will.

The latest sneak peek we have for this episode is really about offering up a greater sort of closure for the family more so than anything else. If you head over to TVLine right now, you can see a sneak preview that features Jessica Knight talking with Vance’s daughter Kayla, a chance to really drive home the impact the Director had on the team. Both Leon and Kayla went through a lot of loss in their lives, and it is nice to see that she still has support at this point.
Are there other questions we have regarding the future of the Director position on NCIS? Absolutely, and we wonder if the finale will offer up a bigger sense of closure — if not, there is also a chance that we are going to see it deliver a different sort of cliffhanger altogether. We know that there is a season 24 coming and of course, it is nice to not have to worry about that. We just know in general that this has been a year of some pretty enormous creative swings, and it would be strange if this finale did not keep that tradition going in some way.
