Next week on Starz you are going to have a chance to check out Outlander season 8 episode 10 — are you ready for what is to come? Is that even possible, all things considered?
Well, the first thing to note here is also the saddest: This will be the series finale. This is a show that has been a part of our lives for more or less a decade and yet, all things come to an end. This conclusion is not based directly on the work of Diana Gabaldon and through that, the story could veer in any direction. There are only two things that we can note in advance: It will be emotional, and that multiple endings were actually filmed on set, allowing for there to be some optionality for the producers. (Also, it helps to keep spoilers at bay.)

In the series finale of “Outlander,” Jamie and Claire must protect the home that they’ve made for themselves and trust in the love that binds them.
In the end, we do think that this finale will bring a touch of unpredictability but also answer some long-held questions; yet, we also do not tend to think that the producers should be beholden to tie up everything in a neat little bow for Jamie, Claire, or anyone else. While this is a series with fantastical elements, it is still about life. Life is not neat and tidy — there are often problems and complications that come when you least expect them. When the dust actually settles, isn’t that okay? We at least tend to think so.
We are sure that there will be divided reactions after the fact, mostly for one reason: That is always the case with finales. That is no indictment on Outlander itself.
