The Hunting Party season 2 finale cliffhanger: The truth about the Pit

We certainly went into The Hunting Party and its season 2 finale tonight with a firm expectation that not every loose end would be tied up. So by virtue of that, what did we get?
Well, first and foremost, let’s just start with the fact that the Pit is so much worse than we ever imagined — as hard as that is to believe. Bex saw the list of inmates and as it turns out, this is not just a prison for serial killers of the past. Instead, it is also creating new ones! It cements further the truly dark nature of the place but beyond just that, also blows open the world of the show for more cases and questions down the road. For a semi-procedural show like this, it all makes sense so that the characters remain on their toes.

For Bex, continuing to uncover the truth could come with more of a leadership position and from where things currently sit, our general question how she will tackle what the next chapter could be. The show would be similar and yet different if a season 3 happens.
Would this be a worthy series finale?
Ultimately, we tend to think that it depends on what you are looking for when it comes to a show like this. You can argue that at least some loose ends were tied up, and there is a universe where you can imagine that Melissa Roxburgh’s character does find success uncovering the latest layers of the prison. However, at the same time, it would be a shame to not see it. A decision on the future is likely to come in the very-near future, so more than likely, you will not be waiting too long one way or the other.
What did you think about the finale for The Hunting Party season 2 overall?
Do you think this is a compelling tease for a possible season 3? Be sure to share right now in the comments! Once you do just that, remember to come back for more.
