Next week on CBS, you are going to have a chance to see Ghosts season 5 episode 20 — so what will make “Polar Opposites” stand out?

Well, for starters, take the fact that we are closing in on the end of the season, and we certainly have enough history with this show to note there is likely something big coming at that point. The season 6 renewal was ordered far in advance, opening the door further to a game-changer or at least a big question during the off-season.

Let’s get more specific now: Episodes 21 and 22 are going to air back-to-back on May 21, meaning that what you see next Thursday will likely build up to it to a certain degree. We imagine that there will be a few story developments, but there is also a chance at some laughs along the way.

To get a few more details on what is ahead, go ahead and check out the Ghosts season 5 episode 20 synopsis below:

“Polar Opposites” – When a Hollywood producer comes to scout Woodstone as a filming location, Sam is prompted to take a creative leap that draws unexpected support from the ghosts. Meanwhile, changing roles among the ghosts spark a heartfelt effort to honor someone special, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, May 14 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.

Is the support really that unexpected? Well, the reason we wonder is evidenced in part by the key art above: They love to be entertained so on some level, we do think that they could be on board with the idea of the location being used. Then again, a lot of their reaction here may be based largely on whatever the “creative leap” is that the synopsis is talking about.
