Is RJ Decker new tonight on ABC? We certainly know that the Scott Speedman series has delivered a lot of fun cases the past few weeks. We’ve seen notable characters in a great setting, plus dynamics that have blossomed over the course of time.

Now, unfortunately, we have to share some of the bad news — you are going to be waiting for a little while to see what lies ahead. There is no episode tonight and technically, there is a chance that there may never be one again. After all, the show has yet to be renewed for a season 2.

Is there still a chance of it happening? Absolutely, but it is also not guaranteed. We are talking about a show here that is not among the highest-rated at ABC, and it also did not have a ton of time in order to find its footing. Nine episodes is such a brief run — at least when it comes to the Scrubs revival (which had the same episode count), it had the luxury of coming in after a show that had been popular for years.

One way or another, we should hear about the future of RJ Decker soon. As a matter of fact, it would not come as a shock in the slightest if we learn about a renewal or cancellation later this week. ABC could technically wait a little while if they wanted, but it makes sense for them to figure something like this out fast so they can formulate their schedules. The one piece of information we wish that we had was whether or not the show was performing well on streaming — that could help it dramatically but at the same exact time, it could be the nail in the coffin.
