Will Trent season 5 premiere date hopes over on ABC

In the wake of tonight’s season 4 finale over on ABC, is there anything more that we can say here regarding a Will Trent season 5? Is more of the show actually going to happen?

Well, just like you would expect, there are a ton of different things to say within this piece — but let’s start with the fact that the crime drama is coming back for more. It has been ordered already, not that this is much of a surprise when you consider its overall popularity. Despite originally launching without many expectations, it has since become a big hit and one of the network’s more-important shows. It could also stick around for many more years, depending of course on the ratings and if the cast and crew want to keep going.

So when it comes to getting an exact premiere date here, the sad news is that nothing is confirmed as of right now. However, we do not think that ABC is going to make any huge changes. Our general sentiment is that if we are lucky, the show is going to be back in January of 2027. Sure, it would be nice in the event that it became a fall show, but the network clearly has a winning strategy here to start airing it in the winter and have it go without too many interruptions over the course of the year. It is still able to do eighteen installments a year, which is a rather nice number — especially when not a lot of shows out there are doing a whole lot more than this.

In general, we just hope that the next chapter of Will Trent gives you action, drama, and everything else that you’ve had a chance to see the past few years — but maybe a chance for the title character to be happy? Is that really too much to ask?
