The Pitt season 3 spoilers: Will Dr. Al-Hashimi return?

As we head into The Pitt season 3 now, there is one character who we know is not going to be coming back in Dr. Samira Mohan — much to our dismay. So is she the only established character saying goodbye?
Well, let’s just say that remains to be seen. One person who will be back is Dr. Al-Hashimi, despite the end of the season 2 finale where she realized that she shouldn’t be driving after two seizure flare-ups and a 15-hour shift. The attending had to recognize that she needs care of her own, and it took an intense conversation with Robby to make that happen.

Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, Sepideh Moafi indicated that her character is bracing for a return — but she also doesn’t know how the writers will present the dynamic between her character and Robby after he insisted that she was no longer able to work:
I don’t know how deep we’ll go into it. I just know that for her, he has punctured a deep wound in her with trust and revealing part of herself. Part of the reason why she revealed herself to him was to get closer to him, and for him to betray her in that way — you don’t bounce back from that quickly.
But she’s a pro, and it’s not about her feelings. Even though he’s making it about his feelings, she’s a total professional and prioritizes the needs of the hospital first. And so I imagine that she would go back to work and do everything she can to be even better than she was before while managing her condition responsibly.
Ultimately, Al-Hashimi does have her strengths and weaknesses on the job, but the same goes for almost every character in this world. We anticipate that she will be an asset and perhaps a guiding force, given that it does seem like Robby is still going on sabbatical.
