The Pitt season 2 episode 15 (finale): Noah Wyle on Dr. Mohan exit
We don’t blame anyone heading into The Pitt season 2 episode 15 feeling somewhat bittersweet, and for one particular reason. One way or another, this is the final episode for Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Samira Mohan. The news of this exit first came out weeks ago, and there has been no indication that there will be full-on closure in the finale.
So why get rid of a beloved character at all? Well, a lot has to do with the same thing that Noah Wyle and the writers have been saying from the start: The story requires a certain number of exits.

Speaking per Variety at a recent PaleyFest event for the show, here is some of what the series star / executive producer had to say:
“It’s an inevitability that’s going to happen every season with this show because as writers we’re hard-pressed to figure out what a lapse of time we can have and keep most of the ensemble together realistically … Emergency rooms have a high revolving door … As always, we try to bring in new characters or promote from within as we go through these cast changes and try to keep the storylines fresh, but obviously Supriya has been a huge part of our show since the beginning.”
Technically, there is nothing wrong with what Wyle is saying here, but does it ease any frustration? Hardly, especially since realistically, it could take Mohan a stretch of time to figure out her next steps as a doctor. Early intel suggests that The Pitt season 3 will be set four months after season 2, and there is a chance that realistically, the character would still be there. We’re going to have to wait and see what sort of explanation is given here.
