The Count of Monte Cristo episode 4 spoilers: The leap forward

Next week on PBS, you are going to have an opportunity to see The Count of Monte Cristo episode 4 and with that, another jump forward in the story.

What will the main focus be for the next chapter? Well, for starters, there is a bit of a time jump — for those wondering whether the show was going to slowly adapt the source material, we think you have an answer. Edmond’s transformation is complete and now, he is working to do whatever he can in order to get his true vengeance. Some of this is a process and yet, when you strike you have to do so quickly. There will be a lot of fun, action-oriented moments throughout this, but also some emotional ones at the same exact time.

Five years after reinvented himself as the Count of Monte Cristo, Edmond tracks down the men who betrayed him. Deception lets him enter their social circle, but his beloved Mercedes, now married to Fernand, feels uneasy in his presence.

If you have not heard for whatever reason, this show is actually a little longer than The Forsytes airing before it, as you are going to have a full eight episodes for everything to play out here. The best stuff is still to come, and we do honestly hope that this show is really going to bring new fans over to the classic story. This is one of those that we do not mind at all if it gets continuously adapted time and time again. Are there not so many fun ways to take it?
