If you have not heard, Ghosts season 5 episode 16 on CBS is going to be noteworthy for many reasons, beginning with its guest star. Former Young Sheldon star Iaim Armitage is appearing as a version of himself in the half-hour, which is especially amusing given that his show used to air before this one on the schedule.

For a while now, we’ve known that the actor would be playing poker at Woodstone Manor, but there was an underlying question in that: Why? Let’s just say we are pleased to have some sort of an answer now. Per CBS, he is actually there in part researching a role … but we honestly think it would be funny if he scored some money along the way.

To get a few more details, be sure to check out the Ghosts season 5 episode 16 synopsis below:

“Woodstone Royale” – Needing to raise a large sum of money to pay the IRS, Sam and Jay agree to host a high-stakes poker game at the mansion. Meanwhile, in an act of generosity, Isaac gifts Jay’s recliner to the basement ghosts, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, April 16 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.

If Sam and Jay are facing some serious tax troubles, we do have to hope this is one of those situations where the house always wins. Also, it feels like this is one of those stories where it is rather easy for the producers to find some creative ways to use the ghosts. We are pretty excited for the hijinks that are almost certain to come out of this. (Also, it would be a delightful bit if more Young Sheldon stars randomly appeared after this.)
