As some out there may be aware at this point, Tuesday night is going to mark NCIS season 23 episode 13, an installment that also serves as the epic 500th episode of the crime drama. We imagine that there will be a lot of nostalgia roped into this story but at the same time, there is a serious issue front and center.

What are we talking about here? Well, it is rather simple, and it resolves around questions as to whether or not we are going to be seeing the entire team stick together. We know that the Department of Defense is seemingly set to shut them down — that is, unless someone can figure out a way to ensure that this doesn’t happen. To date Vance has been leading the charge in these efforts, though he has done the bulk of his work so far in secret.

Do we have confidence that Leon may be able to figure things out within this episode and save NCIS? Sure, but we’re going to go ahead and throw out our worst fear here: That it could also cost him his job along the way. Given that this is such a milestone hour, it would not be a shock if it turned out to be the last one for a major cast member. While Rocky Carroll is not the longest-tenured member of the group, he has been around longer than Diona Reasonover, Katrina Law, Gary Cole, and Wilmer Valderrama. He’s had a great run and if he were to ever leave, it would be worthy of a proper send-off.

Now, do we want this? Absolutely not, and that’s why we call it a “worst-case scenario” in the title. All of this is just something to be aware of on some level in advance.
