As we get ourselves prepared to see NCIS season 23 episode 13 on CBS next week, aren’t the stakes significantly higher than ever?

Well, the first thing that we honestly have to share here is quite simple, and that is the fact that this is going to be the 500th episode of the show. That means that there is a huge celebration of these characters coming up … but also a real fear for their future, thanks in parts to the events of episode 12. In the closing minutes, we learned from Leon Vance that NCIS is being shut down. Is there any way for them to fight for their future? Or, are they going to just be operating moving forward in an unofficial capacity?

Well, here is where things do get a little bit complicated. Based on the official NCIS season 23 episode 13 synopsis below, we could be seeing more of the latter, at least for a temporary period of time:

“All Good Things” – When the son of a Marine that Gibbs once helped comes to NCIS in desperation, the fractured team reunites off the books. But chasing justice without a badge may cost them more than their careers, on the 500th episode of the CBS Original series NCIS, Tuesday, March 24 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.

We do believe there’s a chance the agency does come back, mostly due to the fact that it is hard to imagine the show without it. Yet, it may not come easy and through a lot of this episode, we tend to imagine there is a big journey ahead full of highs and lows.
