The Last of Us season 3 premiere date hopes as filming begins

We know that it has been a rather long wait, but this past week marked a major milestone for The Last of Us season 3 over at HBO. After all, production is officially underway on the latest batch of episodes across the greater Vancouver area!
For those curious, cameras are expected to roll on the series for the majority of the next several months, and we know that there is a significant amount of ground to cover. This season is really going to be Kaitlyn Dever’s time to shine as Abby as we learn a great deal more regarding her backstory and what is still driving her after her revenge against Joel is seemingly complete. We could go back in time a little bit before circling back around to some of the dramatic events at the end of the season 2 finale.

Now that we’ve said all of that, let’s get to what we personally think is the other all-important question here: When the video-game adaptation is actually going to be back. HBO is a series that does not ever rush things, so there is a chance that we could easily be waiting until the summer or even fall of 2027 to get it back. After all, post-production on a show like this takes some time and even when it is done, the network does also need to find a little bit of real estate on their schedule.
One thing that we are certainly curious to hear more about in general is whether or not The Last of Us season 3 is going to be the end. After all, we’ve gotten somewhat-mixed messages on this over time, whether it be from the show’s producers or then the network itself. We think that the longest this series could really go is season 4 without making things up that are totally absent within the games.
