‘American Idol’: Nicki Minaj surprisingly positive on show experience

American Idol JudgesYou can continue to hate on Nicki Minaj if you want, but we have to give the “Super Bass” singer a little bit of credit here for being incredibly nice when talking about a difficult subject (especially when she did not have to be). Nicki was of course a part of a very controversial judging panel on “American Idol” season 12, one that many held responsible for ruining the show in some ways (along with male contestants that nobody could have gotten behind).

Rather than be completely negative about her experience or her fight with Mariah Carey, though, Nicki kept things very positive while at the launch of Myx Fusions Moscato in New York City Thursday night. Just check out what she had to say in a chat with E! News:

“My experience was great! It was a blessing … I had a wonderful time and I learned a lot about myself; I learned a lot about the world’s perception of me. And I think it was a great thing for hip-hop to see me transcend, and then I can come come back and still do the BET Awards and still be authentic in what I do.”

Will Nicki ever join another singing competition? She did not necessarily rule out being a part of “The Voice” someday, even if we don’t necessarily see that happening at any point in the near future, given the drop in the “American Idol” ratings and the fact that the NBC show already has their panel set in stone.

What do you think about Nicki’s comments, and are you surprised there has been so little discussion on all the “American Idol” changes in recent weeks?
