2013 Teen Choice Awards analysis: Adam Levine vs. Blake Shelton vs. Simon Cowell
In the latest entry in our Teen Choice Awards preview series, we’re focusing on the category of Choice TV Personality (Male), or this year, what could just be called “Favorite Talent Show Guy.” Of the five nominees, all of them have something to do with a show about singing, and only one of them (in Nick Cannon) features something other than just singing on their show. While this genre has started to taper off somewhat in the ratings, it’s clear that this is still what the TCA voters go for, and many of these nominees have themselves quite a fan following.

The nominees – Nick Cannon, “America’s Got Talent” (NBC), Simon Cowell, “The X Factor” (Fox), Adam Levine, “The Voice” (NBC), Ryan Seacrest, “American Idol” (Fox), Blake Shelton, “The Voice”
The favorite – It’s really rather hard to say based on this list, mostly because there are a few popular people on here. Simon will probably get a ton of support from One Direction and “X Factor” fans, and thus we’re pegging him as the most likely contender. Both Levine and Shelton could get a ton of support themselves, but the question we wonder is whether or not their fans are really going to be too invested with voting for a TCA, given that these two don’t really occupy much of that teen awards-show space.
Who should win – We’re going to give it to Blake who manages to be funny every week, and is so likable that we cannot really complain too much about his popularity making “The Voice” unfair in many ways, given that someone from his team almost always wins.
