‘Glee’ season 5 notes: Cory Monteith returns, Chord Overstreet campaigns

It is still a pretty quiet day in the world of entertainment, especially when it comes to anything and everything associated with “Glee.” The Fox series is still in the middle of its hiatus, as production gets ready for filming. The writing process has presumably already begun and has been going for weeks, even though the entire team has kept just about every little detail under wraps.

But we will begin here with the simply (but funny) return of Cory Monteith to Twitter this weekend. Ever since getting out of treatment earlier this spring, the actor has been very disconnected from social media, and has yet to really talk openly about what he went through in any interview. Before this message, he had sent just five messages out on the social-media account since leaving the facility, and also retweeted a message from his girlfriend Lea Michele.

So what did this one say? Ultimately, he opted to keep things as simple as possible:

“…so… what did I miss?”

We expect a somewhat more active Cory as “Glee” starts to film later this month, though the priority is that he does whatever he needs to in order to stay happy and healthy.

As for Chord Overstreet, he is using his Twitter in order to help promote his own chances at making it onstage at the Teen Choice Awards later this year, where he has an opportunity at getting some love. You can cast your votes for him and some other actors here, and the results will be revealed live on Sunday, August 11 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time on Fox.
