Platonic season 3 premiere date: A February 2026 update

With us now deep into the month of February, are we inching closer to a Platonic season 3 premiere date arriving at Apple TV? We certainly hope so! After all, the first two seasons were both delightfully funny as well as incredibly escapist. This is one of those series that we want as much of as humanly possible.

Now that we’ve said that, we do of course still have a wide array of questions surrounding when the next batch of episodes will air — will it be anytime this year?

Well, for the time being, let’s just say that this is unlikely. Rose Byrne is currently in the midst of an awards-season promotional tour. Meanwhile, Seth Rogen is currently working on the second season of his other Apple show in The Studio. We know that they will come back to work on this series eventually, but that does not mean that it is a priority for the relatively near future. A lot of early suggestions are that season 3 of Platonic will film later this year, and we tend to think that a spring / summer 2027 premiere date is the most likely scenario here.

Would we love to see it sooner? Absolutely, and it goes without saying that it would be nice to see this series arrive in a way where it was not every other year. However, sometimes you have to work around other things and honestly, this could help to make a show like this fairly fresh. It also allows the characters of Will and Sylvia to breathe a little bit in their own fictional world before they then cause a lot more wreckage in each other’s lives. They are gloriously chaotic together, but it feels like you have to balance that out with some occasional peace to keep things realistic.
